Weekly Activities

Life Journey Groups / Sunday School
(Sundays 9:15 a.m.)
Each age group has a specific class with age-appropriate curriculum and individual permanent teachers.  Even young babies are learning.  Those teachers also have excellent teaching curriculum to begin laying a strong biblical foundation early in life.  The classes for grades 1-6 host many fun activities and events at times other than Sunday morning.  Check at the Children's Welcome Desk for further information.  Preschoolers (babies-fours) are assigned to a specific class by birthday.  Kindergarten- 6th grade are assigned by school grade.

ETC (Extended Teaching Care)
(Sundays 10:45 a.m.)

Another way to help in the building of a solid spiritual foundation is through Extended Teaching Care.  This is offered for preschoolers (newborn-kindergarten) during the 10:45 a.m. worship service.  This is a time in which the children have age-appropriate lessons that build upon the lessons taught in the Life Journey Groups (Sunday School)They also learn about God through crafts, music, games and other enrichment activities.

Special Needs Class
(Sundays 10:45 a.m.)
Recognizing the unique needs of families with a special needs child we attempt to offer a class for special needs children during the 10:45 a.m. service.  This allows parents and other family members to attend that service.  Each Sunday the class is staffed with a trained, experienced special needs worker who serves as lead teacher with other adults. We ask that parents who are interested contact us first so that we can assess the situation and make sure we have adequate staffing.  Contact Carol McKinney at 288-3824 ext. 301.  Adults who are interested in serving in this ministry can also contact the Children's department at the above number.

Sunday Evening Childcare
(Sundays 6:15 p.m.)

We also offer childcare on Sunday evenings during the Sunday night service for ages Newborn-age 5.  Children in Grades 1-6 attend the Sunday morning and evening worship service with their parents.  We believe this gives time for the family to worship together and for our elementary children to have exposure to our senior pastor.  An additional worship bulletin for children is provided.  Our first graders are presented a Bible from the church during the service on Bible Presentation Sunday soon after they begin to attend worship.

Kids' Choir
(Sundays 5:00 p.m.)

Kids' Choir takes place during Spring and Fall.  Children experience the joy of praising God through music by participating in worship at various times during the year, as well as by presenting musicals and other events.  Choirs are the perfect place for your children to develop their musical skills and capture a love and passion for worship.  To get started just visit one of our weekly rehearsals that are each Sunday at 5:00 p.m. in the Children's area downstairs.

Children’s Bible Drill
(Sundays 6-7 p.m.)

Children's Bible Drill is for Grades 4-6, Room 163, coordinated by Anna Feather. (Note this new time, which allows older children to participate in both Bible Drill and Kid’s Choir.)

Mission Friends
(Wednesdays 6:15 p.m.)

This ministry is for boys and girls, age Newborn-Kindergarten, and helps lay the foundation for R.A.s and G.A.s by instilling a love of missions in children.

R.A.s & G.A.s
(Wednesdays 6:15 p.m.)

Lawndale offers Royal Ambassadors (R.A.s) for boys and Girls in Action (G.A.s) for girls.  These discipleship programs are for boys and girls in 1st-6th grade and involve hands-on training in missions, Bible study and accountability.  (Please note that Grade 6 preteens have the option of also attending Student Ministry Fusion in the Christian Life Center)
