Find a Special Place of Ministry
As our new church year kicks off, we have a few places of service and ministry available with eager, excited, teachable children who are open to learning about God and Jesus. Our Wednesday evening mission education program needs a couple of additional assistants to join the GA team (girls, grades 1-5).  Mission Friends needs a teacher in the threes class.  Directors in these program would be most happy to discuss your interest.  Mission Friends:  Emily Seabolt or Tab Oakley.  Girls in Action:  Jill Cox.  You may also contact Arvil Pennington to share your interest.

Fall Promotion, September 4
Preschoolers and elementary children will advance to their new class on September 4.  You will receive notice by mail the week prior as to your child’s new class, lead teacher, and location.  Parents remember, when Life Journey classes end at 10:30am, all preschoolers and children in grades 1-3 must be picked up by a parent or guardian.  Please always keep safety in mind.

Children’s Bible Drill
This program is designed for children who are nine, ten, or eleven (as of August 31). It is an exciting program of scripture memorization.  The boys and girls learn to quickly find key Bible verses and will compete in regional drills in the spring.  Parents may visit the Bible Drill class on September 4 or 11 to learn more about this exciting program, which meets in room 314.  The Bible Drill Director is Amy Styers.  Leaders are Chris and Deborah Brown and Stephanie Chisholm.

Enrich the Life of an International Student
Many international students come to Greensboro to study each year.  Through Piedmont International Fellowship, you can be a friend/family to a student. Students are matched appropriately with your input.  You will be encouraged to periodically fellowship in some way with your student. Many international students that come never visit an American home. I have been so blessed to befriend students from  Germany, Austria, Brazil, France, Spain, and Iran through the years. All have been very open to visiting Lawndale and have certainly heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Contact Arvil Pennington or Audrey Womack, PIF director, to share your interest or learn more.

Weekday Preschool Scholarship Fund

Our Children's Learning Center has a wonderful ministry to preschoolers.  Little ones receive a solid developmental foundation built on Christian principles.  We have established a scholarship fund in memory of Marion and Doris Ellis (charter members of Lawndale Baptist Church).  The fund will assist parents with monthly fees.  Any amount you wish to give will honor this wonderful couple and help a preschool child get off to a great start in life.  Checks can be made to "Lawndale Baptist Church" and designate it for "Weekday Scholarship Fund".

For other current activities, please check the Children's section of the Lawndale Leader.
