4-week class that meets on Wednesday nights from 7:30pm- 8:30pm for couples who are thinking about, planning on, or expecting children. We provide an overview of parenting from pregnancy to young adulthood.
Preparenting Seminar
An overview of what parents should expect from the preschool years to the teenage years. This seminar will also help you envision what you should accomplish biblically as a parent.
Parenting 101: The Journey With Preschoolers
Although the key is teaching "authority," each of these topics will be addressed for parents who have kids ages birth-4:
- Attention (How to Make Family a Priority)
- Affection (How to Love your Child)
- Authority (How to Teach Respect, Obedience)
- Adoration (How to Lead Your Child to Love God)
Parenting 201: The Journey With Children
Parents with Children Ages 5-10 are encouraged to participate in this class. Topics such as discipline, discipleship, personality, birth order, and preparing for adolescence will be covered. For this age group, the major emphasis is character development.
Parenting 301: The Journey With Adolescents
What convictions do you and your child have about peer pressure, dating, attitude, etc.? We'll discuss the top 10 issues children Ages 11-15 face and basic standards to put in place as you navigate through these years.
Parenting 401: The Journey With Young Adults
Still another shift takes place in parenting when children reach the 16 to 22 year age range. How can we prepare our kids for such important decisions such as vocation, marriage, and lifestyle? What pitfalls do they need to avoid? And how can we adjust our parenting style to bless the God-given drive toward independence?
Parenting 501: The Journey With Step-Children
Discipline is a huge topic that is not easy to practice in step families. It will be necessary, so how do you approach it? Other issues that are important to consider are anger, relationships, and respect. This seminar will speak to some of the unique problems of step families as well as common problems that all families face.
