There are many ways for individuals to be involved in the Lawndale worship and music ministries. We are always welcoming new people into our ever growing Lawndale music family. Here are some of the opportunities of involvement.
Celebration Choir (Adult Choir)
The choir is considered the hub of our music ministry. We rehearse each week on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-7:45pm. This time is much more than just practice. We have a great deal of fun and there are many evenings when our rehearsal turns into a time of worship. Individuals have the opportunity to select the service in which to participate. Our choir leads in several special productions throughout the year including the Greensboro Christmas Spectacular, our Patriotic Celebration, and other seasonal concerts.
Our orchestra rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 6:30–7:45pm in room 318. The orchestra accompanies our music each week in our traditional service. This group of dedicated individuals adds fullness to our congregational singing and occasionally performs with the choir on specific anthems.
Senior Adult Choir (Voices of Experience)
The senior adult choir, VOE, meets during the fall, winter, and spring from 10:00 – 11:00 am in the Fellowship Hall each Wednesday morning. Under the direction of R. Marion Boling, Lawndale is blessed to have one of the largest senior adult choirs in the state. This group is quite active in traveling and singing once a month on Sunday evenings.
The handbell choir meets on Wednesday evenings from 5:30-6:30pm in room 310 above the church offices. This group performs in local venues and occasionally provides special music in our traditional service. If you read music or have experience in this ministry, the handbell choir would love for you to join their fellowship.
