Captain's Choice Golf Tournament
Saturday, June 8 at 9am at Crooked Tree Golf Course. Cost is $30 per person. Give your money to Jimmy by May 26 to register.

Parents of a 5th Grader Class
Sunday, June 16 from 9:15-10:30am on the CLC Stage. As children move into middle school, a major transition takes place in their lives. The move toward independence is taken to a new level on the road to adulthood. Since parents are given the responsibility to help children navigate this tricky time, we want to help you be prepared for what your child is facing. Register now by calling Megan Smith in the church office or email masmith@lawndalebaptist.org.

Colossal  Coaster World - VBS 2013
June 24-28 from 9am-12pm. Open to ages 5 (must be 5 by Aug. 31st) through completed Grade 8. Register online, in the Lobby, or in the church office.

Middle School VBS
June 24-28 from 9am-12pm. Open to all 6th-8th Graders. Register in the Lobby, online, and in the church office.

Consumed Camp 2013
July 1-5 at the Myrtle Beach Christian Retreat Center in South Carolina. Open to all 6th-12th graders. Cost is $285 per student. Includes all meals, lodging, t-shirt, and transportation. Brochures are available in the Lobby.

Church Picnic
Sunday, July 21 at Bur-Mil Park. Games at 4pm and Dinner at 6pm.

Summer Co-Ed Camp
The Children's Ministry will be taking a group of boys and girls to camp at Camp Caraway near Asheboro, July 22-26. This camp is for completed Grades 1-5. The camp cost is $255. Registration will open soon.

Quarterly Business Meeting
Sunday, July 28 following the evening service.

Mission Trip
A working mission trip is planned for Boone, NC the week of August 12-16, Monday thru Friday. Work includes minor repairs, building handicap ramps, yard work, painting projects, etc. There will be a job for everyone, all skill levels, both men and women, all ages. Contact Larry Cullen 508-0028 or Bill Bailey 282-3270. We need additional volunteers.

Announcements 

Drivers with CDLs Needed
Throughout the year, drivers are needed for our large church bus to transport participants to various ministry events. It might be a day trip, weekend trip, or week-long trip. Currently, we have only a handful of qualified drivers. If you are interested in becoming a certified CDL driver, and volunteering to drive our church bus, please contact Jan Thomas in the church office for qualification information.

Share the Change Baby Bottle Campaign
Take home a baby bottle from the display in the lobby. Fill it with spare change, bills, or a check (written to Greensboro Pregnancy Care Center) over the next few weeks. Bring it back on Father's Day and turn it in to the same display. Your donations will help the Greensboro Pregnancy Care Center provide needed items for newborns and expectant mothers.

Food Roundup for Baptist Children's Home
Lawndale is collecting gift cards from any grocery store to help the Baptist Children's Home provide meals and supplies for hurting children. Your donation will demonstrate God's love to many unchurched children. Bring or mail your gift car donations to the church office during the month of May.

Calling All Volunteers
Volunteers are needed to help in the kitchen for Wednesday night meals. There are various needs for service: food prep, servers, clean up, dishwashers, looking after the salad bar, dessert table, or beverages. Contact Deborah Brown in the church office or Fran Dominick at 288-4376 if interested.

Christmas DVDs
Joy to the Whole World DVDs are now available in the office during the week. DVDs are $10 each.

Cookbooks for Sale
We are now selling cookbooks for $12 each. All proceeds will go towards the Won Generation Student Mission Trip this summer. You can purchse a cookbook in the office during the week.

Registration for Weekday Preschool
Registration for the school year 2013-2014 has begun. Because some age groups have limited enrollment and registration is taken on a first-come, first-served basis, it is advised that you register early. You may pick up registration forms outside of Ann Johnson's office. If you need more information, you may call 282-4177.

Flowers for Sunday
You can provide Sunday flowers for the main lobby on honor or memory of a loved one. The 2013 calendar is now posted in the elevator lobby of the CLC. Arrangements can be given for $100 or $75 and can be taken home after the Sunday evening service. You may choose to provide two arrangements for the front of the Worship Center for $150. A Flower Committee person will contact you the Monday prior to your Sunday for information you desire to be printed in the bulletin.

Lawndale Fine Arts and Music Academy
You may sign up for lessons at any time. Forms are located in the Church Office and on our website. 

Weekday Children's Learning Center
We are still collecting Box Tops for Education. The collection box is located on the first floor next to the drink machines.

Wednesday Dinner News
Please call the church office to make supper reservations or to cancel your permanent reservation by Noon on Tuesdays.   If you are a new member and are attending the Embarking Class, you are eligible to recieve one free meal on Wednesday night.
