Human Trafficking Prayer Circle
Beginning September 3, anyone interested in joining a focused time of prayer to end human trafficking, please meet every 1st Wedneday from 7:30pm-8:00pm in House B.  SPREAD THE WORD!  Please contact Nathan Wallace in the office if you have any questions.

Men's & Women's Event
Sunday, September 7 from 5pm-7pm, we will focus on "Facing Temptation" (1 Cor 10:13). Men will meet in the Worship Center and women will meet in the Chapel.

Children's Choir Kickoff
Sunday, September 7 from 5-7pm in the CLC. There will be a bouncy house, face painting, balloon art, and games. All children are welcome! Children's Choirs begin practicing on Sunday, September 14 from 5-6pm.

DivorceCare, DivorceCare4Kids, & GriefShare
Classes begin on Tuesday, September 9 at 7pm. Contact the church office to sign up.

Celebration Choir Kickoff
Friday, September 10. Fellowship at 5:30pm and rehearsal begins at 6:15pm. We will begin preparing for our Christmas production. Contact Maria-Elena at for more information.

Wahoo's Adeventures Family Tubing Trip
Saturday, September 13 in Boone, NC. Cost is $30 per person. Trip includes individual tubes, transportation on bus, and a catered BBQ lunch. Deadline to sign up is September 7.

LifePlus Classes
The fall semester of LifePlus begins on Sunday, September 14 at 5pm. Visit the table in the lobby to sign up for a class that interests you!

Student Ministry Annual Parent Meeting & Lunch
September 14 at 12pm in the CLC. All parents of 6-12 graders are invited. Register in the lobby or online here.

Churchwide Fall Grounds Work Day
Saturday, September 27, from 9am-12pm. WE NEED YOUR HELP! Volunteers are needed to help spruce up the outside natural areas of the church grounds.  The more workers that we have, the better!  Please consider giving your time to this very needed area.

Captain's Choice Golf Tournament
Saturday, October 4 at 1pm at Country Hills Golf Course. Place a whole team in or just yourself. Cost is $24. Registration deadline is September 28.

2014 Life Chain
Sunday, October 5 from 2:30p-3:30pm.  The Life Chain will form along Battleground Ave.  The National Life Chain is the largest, peaceful, prayerful, pro-life, public witness in the world.  More than 1,500 cities across the U.S. and Canada are expected to participate this year.  The location for Lawndale members to meet is in front of Krispy Kreme. Please park either on N. Elam Ave. or Carroll St. rahter than in the shopping center.

Orchid Class
Monday, October 13 at 1:30pm in Room 263. Come see how easy it is to grow these wonderful orchids that only require watering twice a month and have blooms which often last for months. You may win an orchid plant door prize. There is no cost, but registration is required. Register with Megan in the church office at

Fall Cruise to the Bahamas
October 30-November 5. A few spots remain on this 5-night cruise to the Bahamas on Carnival's Fantasy ship. Cost is $799/person based on two per room. Price increases September 1. Includes transportation to Charleston, one night lodging in Charleston, all meals and entertaiment on ship. Full payment dues now. Contact 



El Salvador Clothing Project
We are now collecting donations at the collection center on the 1st floor. Items needed include: tropical climate clothes/shoes in all sizes for men, women, & children, small household items & linens, baby & children's clothes are PRIORITY, and a special request has been made for used wedding gowns and mens suit vests. Questions can be directed to Nelda Lockamy at 209-3652. The drive will run through October 5.

Shoe Drive
Every Sunday in September, there will be a collection area in the chuch lobby. Are there shoes in your closet that you no longer wear? As long as they don't have holes in them, we will take them! Simply wrap a rubber-band around the pair and drop them in the collection box. If you have questions, contact Nathan Wallace. This drive will help provide needy students in Guilford Couny with SMOD (Standard Mode of Dress) clothing.

Bus Drivers Needed
LBC is in need of more bus drivers for our large bus. If you have CDL with passenger endorsements, or would consider getting one, and would like to volunteer to be on the drivers list for LBC, please contact the church office for details.

LBC Online Giving
In response to many inquiries from our members, we are presenting our online giving program. It can be found here. Thank you for your faithful stewardship.

Lawndale Fine Arts and Music Academy
You may sign up for lessons at any time. Forms are located in the Church Office and on our website. 

Weekday Children's Learning Center
We are still collecting Box Tops for Education. The collection box is located on the first floor next to the drink machines.

Wednesday Dinner News
Please call the church office to make supper reservations or to cancel your permanent reservation by Noon on Tuesdays.   If you are a new member and are attending the Embarking Class, you are eligible to recieve one free meal on Wednesday night.
