CHILDREN & FAMILIES The early years of life are so important in a person’s foundational concepts of God and Jesus. These concepts are generally set by age twelve. With this in mind we recognize how important our task is in partnering with parents to reach their children for Christ. Child Registration Email Pastor Background Check Extended Teaching 9:45 am In ET we extend the Bible teaching for babies through Kindergarteners in classes staffed by a rotation of screened parents during the 9:45 worship service. ET is also offered during the Sunday evening Bible study at 5:00 with permanent teachers. Age Level Bible Classes 11 am Children build relationships with teachers who teach every week in order to care for and get to know their students. Each class teaches from age appropriate curriculum. Classes are led by screened, permanent teachers. Family Worship 9:45 am There are so many exciting aspects to our worship as children in grades 1-5 worship with parents. Pick up a children’s bulletin featuring our children’s art on the cover. ​ A class if offered during the 9:45 am service for children with Special Needs Sunday Mornings Join us Sunday nights during the school year from 5-6 pm for our Music and Missions time. Our Mission's Journey will allow for our boys and girls to have their own time as they learn about a country/city in the world and how God is using missionaries there. Children and preschoolers will be challenged on how they can "go" and make disciples in their own neighborhoods and city. A Greensboro native, Nathan attended Northwest. He obtained a Bachelor's in Bluegrass Music Studies from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City. Nathan's desire in life is to serve people and build relationships with the goal of sharing Christ and making disciples. Nathan served for five summers in various roles, but mostly as a camp counselor, at Merriwood Christian Camp. He obtained a Master of Arts in Ministry at Carolina University (formerly, Piedmont International University) in Winston-Salem. Nathan has been attending Lawndale since 2017. ​ Nathan has been married to his wife, Liz, since 2022. They enjoy playing music, being outdoors, and spending quality time with family and friends. VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL June 24 - 28 | 9 am - Noon For Children Aged 5 (by Aug. 31, 2024) - Completed 5th Grade REGISTER HERE Check out our recap video from last year! FAQ'S What will children do at VBS? During VBS, children will spend time in a Bible lesson, playing games, crafts, snack time, mission time, and a fun, high-energy worship time. What ages is VBS for? VBS is for Rising Kindergartners (aged 5 by August 31st)- completed 5th grade. Who will be my Child's teachers? Children will be divided into classes based upon the grade they just completed. Children will remain with their class throughout the day but will come together with other classes for worship and some rotations. There will be multiple classes per grade for pre-K-4th grade (all 5th graders will be together in one big class). All of our teachers and volunteers have completed a background check and training. Is there a cost to VBS? There is no cost to attend VBS. We will have t-shirts available on a donation base if your child would like to have one, but t-shirts are not required. Will a snack be served at VBS? Yes, we will serve 3 allergy-friendly snacks that children can choose from each day. If your child has a food allergy and you would prefer to bring your own snack, please feel free to do so. When/what is family night? Family night is a special time where we invite children and families to attend on Thursday, June 27 from 7-8:00. During this time, families will be able to hear some of the song's children have been learning, watch a recap video from the week, get to see your child's classroom, meet their teachers, and enjoy Kona Ice, refreshments, and games in the parking lot. We hope that your family can join us! If I pre-register when do I find out what class my child is in? You will receive an email on June 20th letting you know which classroom your child will be in and some other important information to prepare for the week.

SENIOR ADULTS God has loved and utilized senior adults for His glory since the days of Abraham. And so it is today, as people 70+ are among the most vital and active members of thousands of churches across America, including Lawndale. ​ Check out the various ministries to and through senior adults listed below. Then find a place to plug in! ​ Pastoral Care - The most important aspect of Senior Adult Ministry involves pastoral care for seniors (and their families), experiencing various issues, related to health and wellness in body, mind and spirit. Our senior adult pastor responds prayerfully to those individuals and their families through hospital visits, calls and personal counseling, as needed. Serving Our Seniors (SOS) SOS Long Term Care is a ministry to our homebound members unable to attend church. SOS team members share God's love with these VIP's in various ways, ranging from prayer, visitation, cards, letters and seasonal care packages. SOS Short Term Care is a ministry to people who need encouragement, while they are going through a difficult period. Maybe God is calling you to be an SOS team member. Prime Time Council A ministry of monthly Senior Adult luncheons and seasonal day trips. The luncheons include good food and a program of special interest for senior adults. Day trips in the past have included Autumn apple picking, Christmastime fruit cake hunting, Springtime journeys all over. Care for the Giver (CFTG) A support group for people caring for family and friends. CFTG meets the third Wednesday of each month at 6:30pm in room 262 on the main level of the church. Grands Raising Grands A support group for grandparents raising their grandchildren. This ministry had just begun when COVID hit, but is now in the process of regrouping. Kelsey has been a member of Lawndale since she was four. Over the years she has been a part of and served in the Children's, Students, College, Young Adults, and Activities ministries. Kelsey felt the Lords call in this season of her life to serve in a new capacity by joining the Lawndale staff team. Kelsey graduated from Liberty University with a BS in Graphic Design and a BS in Strategic Communication and a double minor in Photography and Studio Arts. She has a passion for small business and non-profit branding and rebranding. Growing up in a Christ centered, small business home she learned about people and how to meet them where they are using the talents and abilities she was given. Kelsey's prayer is that she can come alongside the Lawndale family and help effectively connect its members and share the love of Christ with its surrounding community. ​ Kelsey enjoys game nights and spending time with family and friends.
