Luke moved to Greensboro from Mills River N.C. in 2014 to attend the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. During his time as a college student he served on the student leadership team in Lawndale's College ministry. In May 2018 Luke graduated with his BA in Communication studies. After graduation Luke served as an Intern in the College ministry at Lawndale. After two years of working in a secular career Luke started his Masters of Divinity at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. In March of 2020 God called Luke to be the Student Ministry Associate. In May of 2021 God called Luke and Hope to work with the college ministry and for Luke to be the new College Director of Lawndale Baptist Church. ​ Luke and Hope got married in January 2020. Hope works as the Development Director at The Pregnancy Network, which is an organization that empowers women to face their unplanned pregnancies without fear. Dr. Donna Navey, is the wife of our senior pastor, Dr. Rodney Navey. They have four married children and 10 grandchildren. Donna is a graduate of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Doctorate of Education focusing on women’s biblical instruction and discipleship. Her passion is the consequential influence of godly Christian women in the home, church, and society (Titus 2:3-5). She serves as the Executive Director for You and Titus 2 Ministries, which seeks to promote the vital role of intergenerational, gender-specific discipleship in the local church setting. Kyle received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He was ordained to the Gospel Ministry in June 2020 and is pursuing a Master of Divinity degree in Preaching and Pastoral Ministry from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Kyle has been attending Lawndale since 2011 and has been serving our Young Adult ministry in a part-time capacity since 2017 and recently taken on the full time role of Assistant Pastor of Children & Families. Kyle is passionate about reading and studying God’s word and equipping the saints for the work of the ministry. He is married to his helpmate and best friend, Leanna, and they have two children: Callie and Hudson. Kyle spends his free time reading, playing outside with his kids, and traveling with his wife. The Embrace Grace Ministry group provides emotional, practical, and spiritual support for single, young pregnant women who find themselves in an unexpected pregnancy. The primary goal of Embrace Grace is to empower the church to be a safe and non judgmental place for these young women to run to when they find out they are pregnant, instead of the last place they are welcomed because of shame and guilt. It is a 12-week program that teaches them about God's love and grace, and at the end we will give them a baby shower to honor them for choosing life and to help provide for their baby’s needs. I knew in High School God was calling me to be a Pastor. I went to Wingate University to prepare and began serving churches vocationally. After college, I completed the MDiv degree and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and later the DMin. I continued serving churches in different capacities. My first church out of seminary was Ebenezer Baptist Church in Indian Trail, NC where I served as Senior Pastor (1995-2006). From 2006-2016, I served on staff at Lawndale as the Married Adult Pastor, equipping families for making disciples. For a short time, I served at Calvary Church in Charlotte as the Family Pastor (2016-2021) before being called back to Lawndale as the Lead Pastor in March 2021. ​ I married Donna Long while in college. She has been a great helpmate at home and in the church. We have been blessed with 3 sons and a daughter who are all married. We love spending time with them, their spouses, and at present count, 10 grandchildren. We love serving our family, the church family, and the greater body of Christ. Jon grew up in High Point and was raised in the faith at Green Street Baptist Church. His education includes a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Appalachian State University, Master of Divinity (Cum Laude) from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (Charlotte) and Doctor of Ministry from Gordon-Conwell (South Hamilton MA). His doctoral thesis is titled: “God’s Word God’s Way: The Big Image of Biblical Preaching” Since 1991, God has blessed Jon with a variety of ministry experiences that include Music and Christian Education, Children and Youth Ministry, Senior Pastor of two churches and now as our Senior Adult Pastor since 2018. ​ Jon loves the Lord, His Word and His People. His greatest passions are to teach and preach the Bible with clarity and creativity so that people can know and love the Lord Jesus; and to minister God’s grace to people of every age and stage of life. ​ Jon and Wendy (Self), married in 1989, cherish their gifted daughter Hayley Rebecca Sanon and son in law Nikhil Sanon, who live and work in Washington, D.C.
