How Difficult Circumstances Draw Us Closer to God

Greetings Lawndale Family! It is wonderful to be conducting Sunday morning services in our Worship Center again. Thank you for supporting the ministries of our church throughout this longer than expected COVID ordeal. Your prayers, support and encouragement have meant the world to me. Troublesome days like these exemplify the significance of having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He is our sustainer, refuge and strength. Oftentimes, God uses difficult circumstances to draw us closer to Him and wean us away from this crazy, temporal world. As the song goes, “Heaven is a wonderful place, filled with glory and grace.” Meanwhile, on our short excursion down here, our Savior said in Luke 19:13, “So he called ten of his servants and gave them ten minas. ‘Put this money to work,’ he said, ‘until I come back.’”

Circumstances change, but our mandate remains the same. And so, we will continue to serve our Lord, make disciples and stay busy until He returns. Thank all of you for being a Christ-centered family of faith. Our labor in the Lord is not in vain. I Corinthians 15:58: “Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”

Blessings,

Dr. Joe
